To ALL Field Personnel
It is critical to emphasize that maintaining social distancing remains important to slowing the spread of the virus. CDC is additionally advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items (such as t shirts, bandanas, or pieces of material) can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.
All COVID decon projects are being done in Level C (full face respirators with P100 cartridges). We have been using our normal respirators (Scott) but we have started to switch some service centers over to North full-face respirators. We are switching because we have better availability of cartridges. There is no difference in the level of protection.
In addition, due to the recent guidance from the CDC, ACV has purchased 500 cloth style masks for employees. Delivery is expected next week. This is being done as an added protection measure in case of asymptomatic carriers. Our goal is to continue to protect our field crews and keep everyone healthy while continuing to service our customers in our base business and COVID decon work.
As you also know from Andy’s email yesterday, the Elizabeth Ops group is bottling hand sanitizer, so each employee will have some to keep with them and some to bring home to their families.
Please know we are doing everything we can do in order to provide each of you with a variety of tools to help reduce the risk of contracting COVID 19.
